I should write of Spirit things

New life, hope, rebirth

I should write of precious things

New love, laughter, cheer

I should write of wondrous things, yet

All that comes to mind

Are sadness, pain,

Evasive dreams

a lonely poet's fear

What redeems this

Soul's dark night?
